TKD students bring sparring gear to class this week

TKD yellow belts and above that have their own sparring gear need to bring it to class this week.

Sparring Classes and Sparring Team

We have a sparring class Saturdays from 10:40 am to 11:10 am that is open to all TKD yellow belts and above (you don't have to be on the sparring team) that have their own sparring gear. This is a great opportunity for those new to sparring to practice against other students new to sparring.

Sparring Team is for those that want to compete at tournaments in sparring and members get to wear the gray Team DC uniform.

Random Acts of Kindness Journals

Students are required to do and record random acts of kindness in their journals. White belts need to do 50 random acts before they are allowed to belt test. For all color belts 100 random acts of kindness is required. You can pick up a new journal at the front desk. Here are a few examples from those that turned their books in at last week's belt tests.

• TKD student – Cleaned their room, opened the door for a friend, helped teacher clean the room, did the dishes

• Little Ninja Student – Gave the dog food, helped mom pick up, shared a toy with brother

Black Belt Escrima Sticks

We have escrima sticks in stock now. They range in style and price from $9.99 to $15.99. They are lighter and faster than the PVC practice pipes student can borrow.

Little Ninjas and Tigers

We will work on White (Discipline) and Brown (Coordination) stripes this week in class.

Pre-Test for April Poom and Black Belt Test

The Pre-Test for the April 9^th formal Poom and Black Belt test is this Friday at 6 pm. You must pass a pre-test before you are allowed to do a formal belt test.

Hapkido – Next Chevron Test

We will have the next Hapkido test on Friday April 9 at 6:30 pm. Also, bring your sparring gear to help be an attacker for multiple attacker sparring for those testing for Black Belt.

VIP Passes

If you know of anyone interested in the martial arts please let us know and we will make VIP passes for you to give them. If they enroll after their trial program you will receive Visa gift card as a thank you.
