Halloween costume contest next Monday and Tuesday

Students can wear Halloween costumes to class next Monday and Tuesday.  We will have prizes for the best costume for each class.

Demo team tryouts this Saturday at 11:30 am

Demo team tryouts will continue this Saturday at 11:30.  This is open to all TKD yellow belts and above.  Demo Team does group form called Mega Team and members can do individual forms and sparring at tournaments.  The Demo team also performs at the Andover Fun Fest each year.

To prepare for the tryouts look at the stealth tryout form on the yellow belt section of the TKD tab in the student portal.  If you don't have access to the student portal please e-mail Mr. O'Neill at PremierKarateMN@gmail.com.

We are looking for 3 things in the following order

1. Attention to detail
2. Snap and power
3. How much students can memorize in a short period of time.

So it is more important to get the details (stance, hand position, etc.) correct on only part of the form than memorizing all of the form with poor attention to detail.

Little Ninjas and Tigers make up stripes next week

Little ninjas and Tigers that have attended 10 or more classes in the last two months will be given a chance to make up missing stripes next week during classes.

Students with less than 10 classes will do normal stripes and a separate make up belt test will be scheduled once 10 classes have been attended.

Little Ninjas and Tigers Belt Test Next Friday

Students that have Mr. O'Neill's permission can belt test on Friday 10/29 at 6 pm.  Mr. O'Neill will notify those that eligible in a separate e-mail.

TKD stripe testing next week

Stripe testing for TKD students will be Wednesday 10/27, Thursday 10/28 and Saturday 10/30 during regular class times.  Students can earn 1 stripe per month.

TKD belt testing next week next Friday

Students that have Mr. O'Neill's permission can belt test on Friday 10/29 at 7pm.  Mr. O'Neill will notify those that eligible in a separate e-mail.

Hapkido check and chevron testing next Friday

Mr. O'Neill will check the readiness of black belts to test for their next Hapkido chevron on Wednesday 10/27 and Thursday 10/28.  Those that Mr. O'Neill's permission on one of these nights can test for their next Chevron on Friday 10/29 at 7 pm during the TKD color belt test.

For those on the basic set Mr. O has loaded the first 4 videos on the white belt section of Hapkido tab, and for those on the advanced set Mr. O has loaded the first 4 videos on the blue belt section of the Hapkido tab on the student portal.  Use these videos to refresh your memory between classes and to make sure you are not missing any details.  The rest of the videos will be loaded by the end of the week.

Black belt street defense this Wednesday and Thursday in 7:40 pm class

Black belts should wear clothes that they don't mind getting dirty since we will be doing knife defenses with practice marking knives.
