Black Belt Street Self-Defense

TKD black belts and all Hapkido students can wear regular clothes to class during the 7:40 pm classes on Wednesday and Thursday. We will cover how clothing and limit or enhance your ability to defend yourself.

Child Abduction Prevention Topic #2 – The Gift Giver

This week's child abduction prevention technique will cover the Gift Giver evil warrior and the tricks that he uses to get you separated from others so they can harm you. We will role play how to verbally respond to the evil warrior's tricks and how to use their self-defenses if their verbal defenses do not work. Each week we will discuss a common trick using the Steal Proof Master 10 evil warrior concepts to explain it.

Recognition cards for Week 2

The theme of the recognition cards for June is "Wonderful!".  Students that perform well in class or are good examples of the 5 tenants of TKD (Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, Indomitable Spirit) are eligible to receive a "Wonderful!" recognition card.  The following students earned a "Wonderful!" card last week and should get them in the mail in the next couple of days.

Leadership Team

The next Leadership Team meeting will be next Thursday (6/23) from 6:55 to 7:40 pm. We will get a head start on the new material for July and decide if we want to invite new members to join.

Demo Team News

Practice this week will Saturday

• Nunchaku and Bo staff groups - 11:00 am to 11:30 am

• Forms and creative fighting – 11:30 am to 12:30 pm

Student portal for Demo Team - I plan on video taping the creative fighting sequences and the first part of the Nunchaku form this evening and I will send out a seperate e-mail when I have them loaded on the portal for students to practice at home.

Saturday Sparring Classes

We have a sparring class every Saturday from 10:45 am to 11:25 am that is open to all TKD yellow belts and above that have their own sparring gear. Students can choose between regular sparring and tournament sparring training.

Little Ninjas and Tigers

We will work on Orange (Memory) and Yellow (Balance) stripes this week in class.

Next Belt Test for TKD and LN/Tigers

The next test will be on a Thursday this month since many students want to leave early on Friday for their 4th of July vacation.  The belt test will be Thursday 6/30.  LN/Tigers will be at 6 pm and TKD will be at 7 pm.

VIP Passes

If you know of anyone who could benefit or is interested in the martial arts let us know. We will print you some VIP passes to give them. You will get a VISA gift card as a thank you for each new student that enrolls in the school.
